The final workshop of the ECO-COMPASS project was organized on February 23, 2024 at the Sepsiszentgyörgy Fundația Creștină Diakonia, Irisz House.The event was attended by 38 participants, including the Minister of Environment, the Environmental Protection Agency of Covasna County, the Faculty of Environment of the University of BBT university students, the Faculty of Tourism of Sapientia University, the County Inspectorate of Education, the Director of Special Education, teachers, educators, pedagogists, County Social Directorate, employers employing disabled people, mentors, environmental professionals, stakeholders of green economy, NGOs working with people with disabilities and people with disabilities.
The event of the final workshop proved to be very successful, and it was highly acknowledged, both for the presentations and (most importantly) for the innovative and high quality outcomes of the ECO-COMPASS project.
Based on the feedbacks of people, who attended, they gained new experience, they could get to know with interesting and efficient practices through the presentation of the learning material.The practicality, simplicity and comprehensibility of the online platform has attracted a lot of interest due to its wide range of options for applicability.
The workshop ended with an environmentally friendly exercise: together, the attending participants returned the returnable PET bottles collected by the disabled people at a vending machine set up next to a nearby shop, and the disabled people used the money they got from the bottle to buy fruit.The attending people agreed that the importance of environmental protection starts first and foremost in the family, but is equally important at all levels and for all citizens.Furthermore, they also highlighted the need to continue to ensure, support and urgently develop the sustainability of existing decisions, education, community programmes, applications, strategies and Nature Based Solutions (NBS) in the field of Romanian legislation.
